All that we find recorded in Exodus encompasses the message of redemption set over against human sin and slavery to sin. Lest we forget, redemption's goal is to restore communion between the Creator and humanity. That reality is revealed in the Tabernacle with its various furnishings and its priesthood and sacrifices. God once again walks with his people. He dwells among them as they dwell in this tent and they have access to him by means of the priesthood and sacrifices. These are at best only shadows, however. They are child-like crayon drawings of the Redeemer, the Redeemer's work and the benefits that come from him to those who are redeemed.
