As a believer it is important that you have a clear and Biblical perspective on your redeemed nature and condition. Loving others is not something that we do with ease. Many Christians are perplexed regarding this. We think that because we are Christians obedience should come easier. We may in fact be so troubled by our struggle to exhibit sincere love that we either despair or we pretend that we are indeed more loving than we are. Take today’s text: Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited. – Those two verses are hard to do. We might as well try running up Mount Everest or swimming across the Atlantic Ocean. But why is it hard, we are Christians. Shouldn’t we be able to love in this way? Shouldn’t we be humble as this text urges us to be?
